This summer you want to Spain and you don’t know the traditional meals? Don’t problem, MyHOSTpitality shows you some typical meals

There are a lot of common meals in all country. However, there are some meals which are typical only in a community or in a city.

Paella

learn-spanish-traditional-meals Paella is typical in Spain, it’s well known internationally. In other countries, people think is the star dish in Spain. However, the best paella is in the Valencia region. The all important element is the rice. There are many variations; typically is with chicken and vegetables, or seafood with mussels, prawns or calamari. Also, there is black rice stained by an octopus.

If you come to Spain, you will eat tortilla because it’s everywhere. The main elements are potatoes, eggs and onions. The best way to cook it:  the potatoes and onions are slow fried in olive oil. Then, mixed with the beaten eggs, and after is cooked.

Jamón

Jamón is another meal very important in Spain. In all bars and restaurants have Jamón. Jamón is the pig’s leg, which is cured before consuming. This is a raw meat. There are several tips, normal Jamon or Jamón ibérico de bellota, which is the top category because pig’s diet has had better.

Gazpacho

This meal is typical in Andalucia, in southern Spain. It’s a cold tomato soup. Usually is eaten as an appetiser. Fresh tomatoes, onions, garlic, vinegar, bread, cucumbers, green peppers, and herbs, are blended until it’s silky.

Croquettes are a small portion of dough which is made with several ingredients, for example, jamón, chicken, cheese, seafood, with béchamel. Later is coated in egg and breadcrumbs, and after is fried in oil.

Sangría

learn-spanish-traditional-meals Typical drink of summer is sangria, which is made with red wine, summer fruits, sugar, and coke or lemon. People often drink it all summer on the terraces of the bars.
